Houston Chronicle, Grace Abounds ( An Association of Pastors for Social Justice, Helping Individuals to Achieve the Greatness God Intends for Their Lives, and Building Lives by the Spirit of God ) Las Vegas, Nevada ------------------------ REPENT! It Is Time to Love God. It Is Time to Love Your Neighbor As Yourself. Return to God! by Rev. Patryse Brown, M.A., M.Div. ------------------------ According to a news article, President Obama referred to the terrorism of the Islamic State as “the viciousness of a handful of killers.” This “viciousness of a handful of killers” will bring those who are wise to their knees - in repentance to God (asking God's forgiveness), both, for their own personal sins as well as for the sins of all people. The people are guilty of crimes against God. The people are guilty of breaking God’s laws. Most importantly, the people are guilty of turning away from God. Therefore, the people (the nation) must repent. The people must return to God. Sin and the Lack of Repentance makes people vulnerable to evil. Sin and the Lack of Repentance makes people vulnerable to their enemies. Repent! Return to God! Matthew 22:37-40 According to Jesus, God’s two greatest commandments (laws) are these: 1) “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” According to Jesus, “This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, 2) You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Again, according to Jesus, “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” The people have fallen greatly short of these two, great commandments; therefore, the people must repent of their sins - and return to God. Question: Why Should the People Repent? Answer: Because without repentance, the people will not escape God’s wrath, the people will not overcome their enemies, and the people will not be forgiven of their sins - thus, the people will not be saved from death. [1] Read the Book of Jonah (in the Holy Bible) As God relented and turned away His wrath from the city of Nineveh when the people repented of their wickedness, God will turn away His wrath from the people today if the people will repent of their wickedness. Read Psalm 18:37- 42 As God delivered King David from his enemies - because King David was obedient to God and obeyed God’s laws, God will deliver the people today from their enemies if the people repent and become obedient to God. Read Romans 6:23 & 1 John 2:1-2 As Jesus died to pay the price for man’s sins, so that men might be saved from death, Jesus' death also saves you from death - if you repent and turn away from your sins. REPENT! It is time to love God. It is time to love your neighbor as yourself. Return to God! 1 John 2:4 "...And this is how we know that we know God, if we keep His commandments. He that says, I know God, and keeps not God’s commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him..." 1 John 2:10-11 "...He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him. But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not where he goes, because that darkness has blinded his eyes...” ------------------------------ [1] Death is eternal hell, after leaving this earth. While you are still on this earth, death is also the erosion of God's presence and goodness upon your life, the erosion of your soul, and the erosion of your spirit . ------------------------------ Rev. Some of the material is highly inflammatory, and may be greatly offensive to some readers. We strongly advise you to consider this caution before reading "REPENT!" ------------------------------------------ This material was written with every true emotion and thought that I had. I did not water down my language in order to be socially correct. These are the true emotions that the people at Liberty University (staff and students) are provoking in others with Liberty University’s spirit of non-acceptance. These people, so called Christian Evangelists, are creating division within the society. ------------------------------------------ Read "Excerpts" from the Book REPENT! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xgPNvZ_RK1dOBzIZDQieTOMC4s9fmkcRqwWpXOA2hJo/pub --- For Free Web Access to the Entire Discussion Email: Rev.PatryseBrown@gmail.com --- Grace Abounds ( An Association of Pastors for Social Justice, Helping Individuals to Achieve the Greatness God Intends for Their Lives, and Building Lives by the Spirit of God )
