Denver Post, NOTICE OF INTENT TO DESTROY MEDICAL RECORDS Healthcare facilities must retain patient medical records in accordance with Federal and State Regulations. Once the retention regulations are met, medical records may be destroyed following organizational policy. Beginning 08-25-14 Exempla Healthcare - Lutheran Medical Center and Saint Joseph Hospital - will destroy their older medical records. This notice informs the public, that they may request their medical records prior to destruction. Medical records for adults that have not been seen in the hospital since 12/31/2003, shall be destroyed Medical records for minors that have not been seen in the hospital since 12/31/1985, shall be destroyed To request your medical records, please call 303-467-4046. The deadline for requesting your medical records is 08-18-14.
