Houston Chronicle, Dear THS Classmate, The Topeka High Class of 1964 is currently planning our 50th year class reunion scheduled for the weekend of September 26 & 27, 2014. Classmate Alfred Williams volunteered to set up a website for our class. Contact the Ramada West directly at 800-822-0216 for room information and rates, asking for the block room rate for the THS Class of 1964 Reunion. Block room rate expires Friday, September 5, 2014. A casual mixer featuring light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will the held on Friday evening, September 26th at the Ramada West. Begin Saturday, September 27th with complimentary cinnamon rolls, juice and coffee at 8:30AM in the THS cafeteria. Allow time to tour Topeka High School and Trojan Plaza. The class of 1964 participated with four other classes to create the Trojan Plaza by contributing over $1,000.00 for a granite bench in the plaza as a class gift to Topeka High. Trojan plaza graces THS main entrance. Then enjoy a historic bus tour of Topeka on Saturday with stops planned at Brown vs. Board of Education Historical Site and Museum and the Kansas State Capitol to view the just completed $330 million 10-year renovation. Busses load at 10:00AM and leave for the tour at 10:15AM from Topeka High. A buffet dinner and dance and cash bar are scheduled for Saturday evening at the Ramada West. Class pictures will be taken during the evening. Casual attire is recommended. The cost of the reunion is $50 per person and $100 per couple. If you are going on the historic bus tour there is an additional charge of $10 per person to cover the transportation cost. There will be no reunion books produced for this reunion.
